As part of a programme of upgrades at Yaddlethorpe Sewage Treatment Works, CPC Civils would install pipework to divert processed water to a new outlet.
The installation will enable transfer of treated, recycled water to the River Trent rather than Bottesford Beck.
To complete the project CPC Civils would:
Successfully completing the project would require CPC Civils to overcome a number of challenges including:
CPC Civils would begin work on this project in August 2022 and are set to complete in April 2025.
When complete the project will boost capacity and ensure that the waterway operations are in top condition.
The upgrade will also improve the condition of the Bottesford Beck which runs past the treatment works and into the Trent at East Butterwick.
Currently the processed water is pumping directly into the Bottesford Beck which is a much smaller water course. However the Bottesford Beck will radically benefit from the water discharging directly into the larger water course of the Trent.
The area is a popular spot for the general public to walk. The upgrading of the waterways system realising a network that operates predominantly underground will improve conditions for the environment.
