Rochdale Canal Breach Repairs

On boxing day 2015 the banks of the Rochdale Canal were breached following torrential rain and flood waters.

The flooding washed away around 15m of the canal wall letting water discharge into private allotments adjacent to the canal.

The rain also caused a landslip blocking the canal.

To complete the Rochdale Canal breach repairs, CPC Civils would rebuild the canal wall and reinstate its towpath.

We would also install a sheet pile wall at the landslip location. Installation of the sheet pile wall would support the bank from any future movement.

This work would enable the canal to be reopened.
