District Heating
In early 2013, CPC Civils was appointed as the Civils Contractor to assist with the installation of a new District Heating Network around the Sleaford area in Lincolnshire. The scheme involved the excavation and reinstatement of approximately 2.5 kilometres of trench to allow for the installation of new District Heating Pipework.
The construction of a new Renewable Energy Centre in the Sleaford countryside was the first phase of the works. Trenches were then excavated for the District Heating Pipework which was welded and jointed (band muffed). The trenches were reinstated to the highways specification.
This process continued throughout the project and from this first phase, the trench continued along the Boston Road under strict Traffic Management Plans with various phases feeding local facilities such as Sleaford Town Football Club, Bowling & Leisure Centre, William Alvey School and Council Offices. These phases required thorough and detailed planning with local residents, business owners, Highways and facility representatives due to the complex nature of the works required.
Each phase was completed under a strict programme minimising any disruption to the local residents which resulted in many glowing reports to Client representatives throughout.
