CPC have been working on and around water since the mid Nineties and as such have gained a vastly experienced workforce.
CPC were called out to attend to a breach in the canal during Christmas 2020.
The breach was stemmed by initially dropping 1 tonne bags into the breach location whilst at the same time installing a temporary roadway to the site.
The temporary repair was improved by placing 200t of rock armour and clay whilst a pontoon and piling equipment could be mobilised.
Sheet piles were then placed across the canal either side of the leak to allow a permanent repair to be affected.
The perm works are expected to take place through 2021.
