CPC were contracted to Design and Install a SuDS tank as part of a flood defence project.

Clarice Cliff Primary is located in Fenton, Stoke on Trent. After heavy rainfall, flooding would occur in parts of the building.

A lack of capacity in the existing drainage and sewage pipes that run underneath the site were the cause. Three successive flooding incidents would occur 2016 causing the school’s temporary closure.

The solution would involve constructing a storm water tank beneath the school’s current playing fields. Along with this, constructing a new water mains would be necessary and a ‘grassed bund’ (bank) around the perimeter of the school’s football pitch.
