Job Vacancy: Project Manager

CPC Civils are a family-owned heavy civils contractor, primarily working in the waterways and water infrastructure sectors. We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Project Manager, or experienced Site Manager looking to take the next step. Candidates must have strong experience in the self-delivery of heavy civils schemes. Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for several sites and be part of a delivery team that includes the Works Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and procurement department. You will be expected to manage your own time to make provision for regular site visits, and attending meetings as required. We have a flexible approach to off-site working, which can be carried out either at one of our offices, or at home if you prefer. Your core duties will include:

 

  • Pre-construction activities such as early contractor involvement, tender programmes, and value engineering.
  • Responsibility for the programme, cost, and value of your live projects.
  • Liaising with the client to ensure projects run smoothly, and relationships are maintained.
  • Administering the NEC contract. Raising contractual notices such as Early Warnings and Notification of Compensation Events.
  • Updating the construction Programme to show progress and to demonstrate change.
  • Monitoring and managing the health and safety compliance of the project.
  • Preparing the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and monitoring its completion.
  • Managing and supporting the Site Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors on your projects.
  • Co-ordinating the temporary works, and planning safety critical activities, e.g. crane lifts, floating plant, piling, pressure testing.

Your skills experience and qualifications will include:

 

  • HND,  Degree or similar in Construction or Civil Engineering.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the management of heavy civils.
  • CITB SMSTS or NEBOSH equivalent.
  • CSCS card.

 

The following attributes would be advantageous:

 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
  • Experience of interesting or unusual temporary works and access solution.

 

Salary: £Excellent + Car + Pension + Healthcare.

Location: Midlands, Yorkshire, North East, North West.

Start date ASAP.
