Job Vacancy – Site Manager

Looking to work with an award winning multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm?

CPC Civils are a family owned heavy civils contractor, primarily working in the waterways and water infrastructure sectors. We are seeking to recruit a Site Manager to join our team. Candidates must have strong experience in the self-delivery of heavy civils schemes. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be the most senior on site representative of CPC Civils

Your core duties will include:

 

  • Supervision and management of direct and indirect labour.
  • Ensuring the statutory requirements of CDM and other HSE legislation are adhered to and always followed.
  • Ensuring that operations being carried out on the site are done so in safe manner ensure that safe systems of work are employed.
  • Writing, management and briefing of risk assessments, method statements and permits.
  • Maintaining records in an ITP (inspection test plan) and ensuring that all relevant checks are carried out. Responsibility for quality of build.
  • Keeping records which will include photographs, written reports etc of all operations that take place on the site.
  • Ensuring that the sites and surrounding areas / access roads etc are kept in a safe, secure, professional, and tidy state.
  • Management of temporary works on site.
  • Planning and monitoring work to ensure the appropriate resources are available. Ordering of plant and materials.
  • Monitoring of cost and progress, and reporting this to the Project Manager.

Your skills experience and qualifications will include:

 

  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the self-delivery of heavy civils schemes.
  • CITB SMSTS or NEBOSH equivalent.
  • CSCS card
  • First aid at work

 

The following attributes would be advantageous:

 

  • HNC or similar in Construction or Civil Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • CITB Temporary Works Supervisor or Co-ordinator.
  • Experience of interesting or unusual temporary works and access solution.

 

Salary: £Excellent + Car + Pension.

Location: Midlands, Yorkshire, North East, North West.
